Race Simple ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Race Simple platform, a motorsport part-life tracking service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the service:

Account information — name, email address, and profile picture obtained via your identity provider (Google or Microsoft) through Auth0.
Team and organisational data — team names, vehicle templates, part configurations, service records, event logs, and any other data you enter into the platform.
Usage data — pages visited, actions performed, timestamps, and browser/device information collected automatically for service operation and improvement.
Communications — messages sent through our contact form.

We do not collect payment card details directly; billing, if applicable, is handled by a third-party payment processor.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Race Simple service.
To authenticate you and manage your account and team memberships.
To send transactional communications (invitation emails, account notices).
To improve and develop the platform based on usage patterns.
To respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party providers to operate the service:

Auth0 — handles authentication and identity management. Auth0 receives your email address and identity provider profile data on login.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — our application and database run on AWS infrastructure (App Runner, RDS). File uploads (e.g. part images) are stored in Amazon S3.
Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) — used to send transactional emails.
Google / Microsoft OAuth — used as identity providers; we receive only the profile information they provide during the OAuth flow.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and team data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please contact us at privacy@racesimple.app. Some data may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

5. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted sessions, HTTPS transport, and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@racesimple.app. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Cookies and Session Storage

Race Simple uses encrypted server-side session cookies for authentication (valid for 30 days). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or serve advertising. Local storage may be used to persist UI preferences (e.g. sidebar state) on your device.

8. Children's Privacy

Race Simple is a professional tool intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or email. Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
